The United States Agency for International Development/Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (USAID/OFDA-LAC) Regional Disaster Assistance Program (RDAP) will visit Florida International University to attend a one-day event in disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation and its application in South Florida. This visit will include 22 consultants from Latin America and the Caribbean, and personnel from the USAID/OFDA Regional Office and Washington, D.C.
This one-day workshop presents the experiences of various sectors, city, county and state government, academia, business, and non-governmental organizations, each with unique but complementary perspectives on both disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation. By the afternoon, the group will visit the Wall of Wind Lab of the International Hurricane Research Center at Florida International University.
