Course on Political Economy of Disaster Risk Reduction (August - December, 2014)
The FIU-DRR program is currently conducting the 'Political Economy of DRR' as an online, non-credit academic offering until the first week of December. Upon successful completion of the course, the best performing students will be invited to a three day workshop to be held in Miami in 2015.
Cost Benefit Analysis in DRR
In Fall of 2013, twenty one students successfully completed the graduate level, online course, Cost Benefit Analysis in Disaster Risk Reduction. This course is currently being translated and adapted to the Spanish language for delivery in 2015.

Exchange visit – COPECO
The FIU-DRR Program will host an exchange visit with COPECO (National Emergency Management Agency of Honduras) in Spring 2015 at the MMC Campus and designated locations.
Pasantía, INACAP, Chile
During the month of January 2015, two groups of INACAP (Universidad Tecnológica de Chile) students will participate in two independent certificates offered by the FIU-DRR Program: 1) Disaster Risk Management and 2) Hazmat Inspection. public and private organizations.

The 2014 AmericasBarometer Report by LACC and LAPOP (The DRR Module)
The DRR Program collaborated with the Latin American Public Opinion Project (LAPOP) in the preparation and release of the DRR module of the 2014 AmericasBarometer Regional Report Release. The event, hosted by the Latin American and Caribbean Center and LAPOP, took place in the MARC Pavilion at the MMC Campus on December 3, 2014.
