The DRR Program collaborated with the Latin American Public Opinion Project (LAPOP) in the preparation and release of the DRR module of the 2014 AmericasBarometer Regional Report Release. The event, hosted by the Latin American and Caribbean Center and LAPOP, took place in the MARC Pavilion at the MMC Campus on December 3, 2014. Dr. Richard Olson, Director of the Extreme Events Institute, participated in the panel that presented the political implications of disaster risk reduction in the Americas and released the findings of the DRR module of the Report. The panel included Dr. Elizabeth Zechmeister, LAPOP Director and Associate Professor of Political Science, Vanderbilt University and Dr. Gregory Love, Associate Professor of Political Science, The University of Mississippi.
