Centro de Investigación para la Promoción de Gestión de Riesgos en Arequipa
The Universidad Católica de San Pablo was founded in 1997 in Arequipa, Peru. At the moment, it has six departments, in professional fields like engineering, and five centers or institutes. The university also offers two college majors: in education and in psychology. The Universidad Católica de San Pablo has signed cooperative agreements with nine foreign universities in Latin America and Europe, on such matters as student and faculty exchanges and joint degrees.
The objective of the project is to create a center for research, discussion, learning in the Universidad Cátolica de San Pablo with the purpose of generating projects for the identification, reduction, prevention, and management of risks existing in the communities of the Arequipa region. The creation of the center would be accomplished through the Professional School of Industrial Engineering, with the participation of the other professional schools at the University.
Ana Lucia Vizcardo Muñoz is the Project Investigator. Ana Lucía Vizcardo Muñoz has a B.A. in social Communications, with a specialization in media production. She also has taken graduate courses in: marketing techniques, graphic design, information engineering, and risk management. She participated in the apprenticeship program on risk management and disasters in Manizales, Colombia. She is professor of graphic design and marketing at the Instituto del Sur, Universidad Católica de San Pablo in Arequipa, Perú.
